Beginner's Guide to Mystical Destiny
Welcome to Mystical Destiny. You are in the training grounds/tutorial room. It is recommended to do the tutorial and NOT to skip if this is your first time playing. Here is what you must do in the tutorial to spawn to the first city and begin the game:
Each room/area is dedicated to each of the steps above. As a result, try to kill a monster in this first area. You can either use the attack button located in the Commands tab or go to Settings at the bottom of the screen and turn on bump attack. Bump attack makes it so you can use your arrow keys and attack monsters simply by walking in their direction. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do much damage either way until you level up your skills that are dependent on your weapon. Since there is no weapon in the beginning, you use Hand to Hand and until that skill reaches something other than 1, you will be missing a lot. Keep trying to attack and you’ll eventually start doing damage. Once you kill a monster, feel free to go down into the next room.
The next room focuses on Merchants and how to buy and sell items. Bump the sign post in the room to learn more. To use a Merchant, simply go up to him or her and double click on the NPC. A shop tab will then open up and the option to buy something now exists simply by double clicking, assuming you have the money for it. You can also view the items stats by double clicking and if you don’t want it, simply click no on the “Do you want to buy” prompt. You start off with 10,000 gold so buying a worthless item here is just to familiarize yourself with the Merchant system so go ahead and do that. To sell something to the Merchant, go to your Backpack tab and make sure the Shop tab is still there. If you walk away, the Shop tab goes away and you must go back to the Merchant and double click on him or her to sell your item. Anyways, go to the Backpack tab and double click an item to sell it. You can sell the item you just bought but you will now realize that anything you sell to a Merchant is roughly half the price you bought it for. Proceed to the next area after you have bought and sold an item to the Merchant.
The next area contains the banker in room. Simply go through the doors, walk up to the banker, and double click on her. A bank pop-up will come up where you can deposit/withdraw up to 30 items and you can withdraw and deposit your gold. Deposit all or some of your gold here right now. After that, go down into the next room.
The trainer is in another housed room like the banker in the next area. Again, walk up to him and double click when you’re next to him to use your 5 initial skill points. Here is information about each of the skills you can level up:
Using these descriptions, determine which skills you wish to increase using your 5 skill points. Don’t worry, you get 2 skill points every time you level and you increase the weapon skills simply by using the weapon or using the skill in general. After leveling a skill, go on to the next room.
The last room simply has the priest which will take you to Loriel, the first major city. After completing all four tasks, go into the building, walk up to the priest, double click on him and you’ll be taken out of the training grounds. You’re now in Loriel, the starting city. To the north are item shops so get some starting equipment with your money and then go east to start training on the Slimes.
Check out the Monster section to see monster stats, the Equipment section to see what equipment stats, Cities section in the guide to see what each city has to offer, Monsters and Equips to see the progression of Monsters needed to fight to level and which equips are best for the level tiers. The Olympus, Rebirth, and Reward Points section contains information which is helpful when you are a higher level or when you max out at level 400. Spells to see if your class has spells and when you would get them. Finally, Quests to see what you have to do and what rewards you get for doing it. Any questions, you can ask them in server talk.
- Kill a monster (Fly or Tree Hopper).
- Buy an item from a Merchant and sell an item to a Merchant.
- Deposit gold in the bank.

The trainer is in another housed room like the banker in the next area. Again, walk up to him and double click when you’re next to him to use your 5 initial skill points. Here is information about each of the skills you can level up:
- First Aid goes up to 250 and determines how well you heal.
- Fishing goes up to 100 and controls the rate at which you catch fish and which fish you catch.
- Meditating goes up to 100 and determines how fast your Health and Mana heal when you don’t move and hit the meditate button.
- Mining goes up to 100 and determines which gems you get (from worst to best: Crude, Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Diamond). Mining is done with a Pick Axe on large boulders.
- Hand 2 Hand is a weapon skill type which contains lower delay weapons but not as powerful. It is probably the second best weapon skill type behind Slicing.
- Bashing is another weapon skill type which contains high power weapons with high to very high delays. It is not a very good weapon skill type due to the high delays.
- Piercing is a weapon skill type which contain medium power medium delay weapons. It is a decent skill type but there aren't that many good Piercing weapons.
- Slicing is the best weapon skill type due to the sheer number of Slicing weapons and how the best weapons in the game are almost all Slicing. It is good to level up this type if you can get a good Slicing weapon to use.
- Crushing is another weapon skill type which doesn’t contain a lot of weapons but the weapons are medium to high power and medium to high delay. It isn’t a very good weapon skill type.
- Crafting is mainly used by Archer’s at this point to create their bows and arrows. However, bows are also gotten as item drops and quest items so it isn’t absolutely essential to level up Crafting.
- Missile is the weapon skill type used by Archer’s bows to shoot arrows or to use the bow as a regular attack weapon. The bows are very low delay and medium to high attack used simply as a hitting weapon. They can also shoot arrows which can be bought or made through Crafting.

Example Beginning Strategy
Here is an example beginning strategy that I use most of the time to get some good weapons and set yourself up for success in the game. With the 10,000 gold I buy a Tunic of the Fool (50 defense for cheap), Katana (decent slicing weapon) and/or Halberd (good weapon but Crushing which is not the best skill to level up/use), and a Spike Shield or Elven Shield with the rest of the money. Use some skill points (if you haven't used them all already in the tutorial above) to level up whichever weapon skill you got to be able to hit monsters more frequently.
After this, simply begin training on Slimes and Skeletons. Eventually a Skeleton will drop Angel Bones which is a quest item that you can take to the Angel in Loriel and get some money, experience, and Andriga's Robe. This Robe is your new armor until you get some more money. It's a good armor with healing powers. From there you'll move on fighting Skeleton Wizards, Hobgoblins, eventually Skeleton Kings and Minotaurs. Then you'll move onto Freeze Zombies which drop a Glazed Block shield. That will be your new shield until you get good enough to kill Greater Ice Elementals which drop Glacier Shield and then you will use that.
Another option is to buy a Pick Axe from the Skill Merchant and go to some big boulders (like those around the Golems) and mine for gems. Mining for gems is easy and free money (only costs your time and 1500 gold for a Pick Axe). You can even set up a macro for mining which I will go over here below this to mine more easily. Each boulder, though, does get exhausted and you'll have to move to another one which prevents people from mining while AFK. Simply mine until your hearts content (or until your backpack is full) and then go to any of the Merchants back in town to sell your gems. From there you can ask people in server chat to buy some good items or you can check the Player Merchant shops by going to the Commands tab and clicking on Player Merchants. From there a list of all players with merchants available will pop up and you can go through the shops to see what items are for sale. These item prices are set by each player so you may not be getting the best prices. Shop around and ask people on the server if you are unsure.

Macros
Macros simply map keys on your keyboard to functions and verbs within the game. To access the Macros menu, hit F1 while in the game or go up top to File > Options and Messages. In the pop up, click Client towards the top and then Macros. From here, we can create the macros that are wanted/needed. Any verb in the Tabs (Channels, Commands, Guild Verbs, Team Verbs) can be easily mapped as a macro by hovering over the verb and looking at the bottom left of the BYOND client to see the usage. Usually, the standard is a one word verb is simply just that one word and two verb words are usually hyphenated (server-talk is an example of the verb usage to make a macro to talk). With the verbs in mind, hit the New Macro button, specify the key (or use Find Key button), input the command (some popular commands are listed below), and depending on the usage click Repeat or any other key so it doesn't get used while you're typing.
Some popular macros with their commands in bold:
You can use the .dblclick item or .dblclick an-item for pretty much anything in your backpack such as potions (.dblclick Deluxe-Health-Potion) or even equipment if you want. Just follow this standard convention and you shouldn't have any problems.
You can even control your pets with macros once you summon one!
These are only a few examples. All the pet macros can be mapped in similar ways and the same goes for the spells which are in the spell slots only.
Some popular macros with their commands in bold:
- get - allows you to pick up items
- attack - allows you to attack monsters (you can also turn on Bump Attack in the option menu to make it so you can run into monsters to attack)
- travel - makes it easy to go to the other cities once you do Quest 3
- server-talk - lets you speak to other people in the server
- .dblclick pick-axe - macro for mining on boulders with a pick axe (set this macro on repeat so you can just hold the key down while you mine)

- .click Pet:-Fight - to make your pet attack a monster that is selected (an arrow pops up by their HP when a monster is selected by single clicking)
- .click Pet:-Get - to make your pet pick up an item it is standing on
- .dblclick spawn-healing - to heal your pet (Will only work if your spawn healing spell is in one of your four spell slots on the right of your screen. Simply drag the spells you want in those four slots from the Spells tab into the slot)
These are only a few examples. All the pet macros can be mapped in similar ways and the same goes for the spells which are in the spell slots only.
